Here at Eastwood Homes, we love fall and all that it has to offer, including football and good food!
For nearly a decade, the owners of our company, the Stewarts, have been treating our team members in our Charlotte and corporate offices to a cookout! Owner Joe Stewart makes his famous chili for the hot dogs and hamburgers, Chief Financial Officer Kevin Hutchins handles the grill, Myra Stewart makes sure we are all taken care of, and together we all enjoy some camaraderie and fellowship away from the busy life of homebuilding.
What started as an annual event has progressed into biannual events – after all, we like to eat! For the past two years, we have also used the fall cookout as a time to express our team spirit by wearing our college colors! Everyone from Appalachian State to Michigan to - of course - Clemson and both North and South Carolina teams are represented. And, even the die-hard NFL fans can't resist wearing their colors for the Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers.
For the past two years, we have coincided with a social media contest with our annual fall cookout. We have asked our Facebook "fans" to vote for their favorite move-in-ready home, almost as if they are picking their Homecoming King or Queen! This year, the overwhelming winner was our Charleston home in Ramblewood Forest in Chester, VA. You'll definitely want to check out this home! It's gorgeous!
Our team members have come to anxiously await these get-togethers. We tell new employees about how much fun they are. We plan desserts and fun activities like cornhole. And we eat until we are stuffed! We hope you will enjoy these photographs of this fall's event and feel that you, too, were taking part in this cookout with us!
If you love a cozy home that feels inviting, the words “cwtch” and “hygge” will resonate with you and your interior design sense. If you wish for a home where everyone feels welcome, then these ideas may give you the inspiration you've been looking for.
When we think of Homecoming, the first things that come to mind are football, tailgating, fall, and the chance to win homecoming king and queen. We are proud to announce that our Richmond and Raleigh teams won big in the 2017 Parade of Homes this homecoming season!
