There are three major uses for coffee grounds in your garden and we’re here to break them down.
Once you start growing a beautiful garden you don’t want your hard work to go to waste by bugs eating away at them. A layer of coffee grounds around your garden can keep away unwanted critters like slugs and snails that tend to invade gardens.
Sprinkle coffee grounds on top of your fertilizer or mix in a couple of inches. The coffee grounds add organic material to the soil. This organic material helps with a multitude of things such as aeration, drainage, and water retention for your plants.
Mulch overall is very beneficial for plants that help improve the soil's fertility but using coffee grounds as mulch allows a slower release of nutrients which is helpful to a plant’s health.
On top of all these amazing garden hacks, the acidity of the coffee grounds is supposed to help fight off weeds as well.
Some plants that take to coffee grounds the best are your acid-loving plants like hydrangeas, rhododendrons, azaleas, lily of the valley, blueberries, carrots, and radishes.
