With the new year upon us, it means it’s time for another Pantone Color of The Year selection! This year to predict how 2021 will unfold, they decided to go with two colors that complement each other very well. They are Ultimate Gray and Illuminating, which is a bright and sunny yellow.
We love the combination of these two colors! A neutral gray that resembles calmness and tranquility and a bright sunny yellow that resembles happiness and joy. To describe why they chose these two unique colors to represent the year ahead, Laurie Pressman, VP of Pantone, said, “Two extremely independent colors highlight how different elements come together to express this message of strength and hopefulness.”
The decision Pantone faces every year is reflective of what the world is currently facing and what lies ahead. At Eastwood, we love the color choice of the year because we get to see how to utilize it in design trends and decorating!
As we said before, these two colors really complement each other. If you are someone who likes to stick to main neutrals, we’re sure you already have gray spread throughout your home. But, have you ever thought of adding in some yellow accent pillows, a rug with a pop of yellow, or even some gray and yellow wallpaper? These are all ways you can incorporate the two Pantone Colors of The Year!
We love the idea of having patterned curtains in bedrooms. It gives the room some life to it! Just like the living room, the bedroom could totally have both colors in it! You could do curtains, accent chairs, comforters, and more that bring these two colors together.
With 2021 full steam ahead, we hope to see these two colors in design trends and everyday life. If you chose to use Ultimate Gray and Illuminated in your home, be sure to send us photos!
